Space to think properly about your practice, one session at a time.
1:1 clinical supervision and leadership coaching for nurses and Non-Medical Prescribers working in older adult mental health care — functional mental illness and dementia — in the NHS, care homes, the independent sector, or charities, offered UK-wide by video call — from someone who has led a CMHT for older adults for the past eight years, with 20 years' RMN experience across inpatient and community settings.
of a session
Greg — RMN, V300, QNIS Leadership (Level 1)
Supervision that's grounded in still being on the floor, not away from it.
Nearly two decades in nursing, the last eight leading a Community Mental Health Team for older adults. Independent prescriber. QNIS Leadership (Level 1) Course. Whether you work in the NHS, a care home, an independent service, or a charity, the pressures are recognisable — caseload, risk, capacity assessments, families, prescribing decisions, and increasingly, leading others through them — and this supervision and coaching comes from someone carrying them this week, not from a distant memory of them. Alongside the qualifications, the approach itself is highly empathetic, compassionate, and sensitive — supervision that holds space for you, not just your caseload. Clinical supervision is structured around Proctor's Three Function Model, and leadership coaching around the NHS Healthcare Leadership Model — both explained in full below.

Clinical supervision — and leadership coaching & development
For nurses and NMPs in the NHS, care homes, independent services, and charities, anywhere in the UK — sessions run by video call, so location is never a barrier. Not generic reflective supervision, but sessions shaped around the specific pressures of this field, whether you're deep in clinical work or stepping into leading a team.
Complex presentations & risk
Working through capacity, risk, delirium, and diagnostic uncertainty in older adults with coexisting physical and mental health needs.
Prescribing decisions
A space to talk through prescribing dilemmas with someone who holds the same V300 responsibilities.
Role & caseload pressure
Managing caseload, leadership demands, and the emotional weight of end-of-life and safeguarding work.
Care home & charity settings
Structured, external supervision for nurses working outside NHS teams, where formal supervision is often harder to access.
Leadership coaching & development
Support for nurses moving into or growing within team leadership, drawing on QNIS leadership training — training built specifically for nurses and healthcare environments, not generic management theory — and eight years leading a CMHT.
Care home managers, holding the hard calls alone
Promoted for clinical skill, then handed a staffing crisis, a conduct issue, and a CQC visit — with no one to think it through with.
Most care home managers step up from strong clinical practice into a role that suddenly demands HR judgement, safeguarding escalation calls, and managing upwards to owners or boards — often without formal leadership training and without a peer to test decisions against. That gap is exactly what 20 years RMN experience, eight years leading a CMHT and a QNIS leadership qualification are suited to support.
Book a session-
Staffing shortages & rota crises
Working through short-term firefighting without losing sight of safe staffing decisions.
-
Performance & conduct issues
Thinking through difficult conversations, capability processes, and when to escalate.
-
CQC, Care Inspectorate & regulatory pressure
Preparing for inspection, and managing the aftermath of a difficult report — grounded in extensive clinical governance experience.
-
Safeguarding & escalation decisions
A second opinion on threshold, timing, and how to hold a decision under scrutiny.
-
Whistleblowing support
A space to think through concerns and next steps. Not legal advice — for formal or legal guidance, a solicitor or your regulatory body should be your first point of contact.
Why care homes, charities and independent providers commission this too
This isn't only for individuals paying out of pocket. NHS teams, care home groups, independent providers, and charities increasingly commission supervision directly for their staff — as a benefit, a retention tool, and part of clinical governance.
Reduces burnout & turnover
Structured supervision is consistently linked to lower burnout in nursing staff — cheaper than recruiting and training a replacement.
Safer, more confident decisions
Staff who have somewhere to think through risk, capacity, and safeguarding calls make steadier decisions under pressure.
Supports regulatory readiness
Feeds staff NMC revalidation and demonstrates active clinical governance to CQC and Care Inspectorate inspectors.
Builds your leadership pipeline
Coaching for managers and rising leaders, without the cost of a generic external leadership programme.
Genuinely external & confidential
Staff speak more honestly with someone outside the internal hierarchy — increasing uptake compared to line-manager-only supervision.
Commission how it suits you
Block-book individual 1:1 sessions across your team, offer it as a staff benefit, or commission for a named manager under pressure. Sessions are always 1:1 — no group format at present.
How a session comes together
Prepare
Think about what you'd like to bring to your first supervision or coaching session.
Book a slot
Choose a time that works for you — sessions run over video call.
1:1 session
A focused hour, held to whatever you need to think through this time.
Reflect & return
Leave with something usable, and book your next session whenever suits.
Grounded in Proctor's Three Function Model
Every session moves through the same cycle shown at the top of this page — you bring an experience, reflect on it, reframe it, and decide how to act. Proctor's model shapes what gets addressed as you move through that cycle in clinical supervision — the framework most widely used in UK nursing supervision, and a natural fit for NMC revalidation records.
Accountability & governance
Checking practice against professional standards, clinical governance, and regulatory expectations — CQC, Care Inspectorate, NMC Code.
Learning & development
Building clinical skill, decision-making, and leadership capability — the developmental side of supervision and coaching.
Support & wellbeing
Processing the emotional weight of the work — risk, loss, safeguarding, and the pressure of holding difficult decisions.
Coaching grounded in the NHS Healthcare Leadership Model
The same experience–reflect–reframe–act cycle applies in coaching too — the Healthcare Leadership Model shapes which domain that reflection lands in. Built by the NHS Leadership Academy specifically for health and care settings, rather than generic business leadership theory.
Leading with care
Holding a team's wellbeing and standards of care together, especially under staffing pressure or scrutiny.
Developing capability
Growing your own leadership skill and that of your team — delegation, difficult conversations, decision-making.
Influencing for results
Managing upwards to owners, boards, and regulators, and holding your ground in high-pressure conversations.

Before you book
Do I need my line manager's approval to book?
No — sessions are booked and paid for individually by you, in your own capacity as a registered professional. Some people choose to let their employer know it's happening, but it isn't required. If your organisation would rather book and pay on your behalf, I also take enquiries directly from employers wanting to book their staff on — see the "For Employers" section above.
Is this the same as line management supervision?
No — this is independent, external supervision. It sits alongside whatever your employer already provides, not instead of it.
Who supervises you?
I maintain my own regular supervision and CPD, in line with NMC expectations — supervision isn't something I only offer, it's part of how I keep my own practice safe and accountable.
Can this count toward my appraisal or revalidation?
Yes — sessions are logged, and the record can support your NMC revalidation reflective discussion requirements. It's worth checking your own organisation's appraisal policy for how they'd like it evidenced.
What if I (or you) need to cancel or reschedule?
Just get in touch as early as you can. Cancellations or reschedules with 24 hours' notice or more are free of charge; less than 24 hours' notice, and no-shows, are charged at the full session rate. If I need to reschedule or cancel, you'll be offered the next available slot, or a full refund if that doesn't suit.
Are sessions recorded?
No — sessions are not recorded. What's discussed stays between us, in line with the confidentiality set out in the Privacy Policy.
How quickly will I hear back?
I aim to respond to enquiries within 2 working days.
What if I disclose a personal crisis or risk during a session?
If something you share suggests you or someone else may be at risk of harm, I have a professional duty to respond — which may include signposting you to your GP, occupational health, or emergency services. Supervision is not a substitute for your own mental health support. If you're personally struggling, please also reach out to your GP or occupational health.
Ready when you are
